In a year of anniversaries, The Sixteen celebrates 30 years of music making and also revels in two of the country's most
influential composers. Purcell may have been born 350 years ago but his music sounds as modern today as it must have done
then. This year James MacMillan celebrates his 50th birthday; his setting of O bone Iesu was commissioned by The Sixteen,
and it is an inspired work for a unique choir .
Queen Elizabeth Hall at 6.15pm: Pre-concert talk.
